Grown and produced locally on the fertile grounds of the Riverina, NSW, our Black Garlic is a moreish flavour-bomb packed with sweet umami flavours and more than 40 years of experience producing and perfecting garlic for Australia’s leading supermarkets and restaurants.

About Black Garlic

All Hillston Black Garlic products are made from our very own garlic which grows, year-round, alongside potatoes and pumpkins on our farms in Hillston, NSW. For more than 40 years we have been supplying Australian supermarkets and restaurants with freshly flavoursome produce, but it was during 2019 that we began to ferment our signature Black Garlic. 

First, we take freshly flavoursome  garlic from our farms in Hillston, NSW. Then, we treat these delicious bulbs with low heat and humidity for several weeks, until the cloves turn inky black and develop a caramelised, balsamic-like flavour that’s packed full of umami. Yum.

So, what is Black Garlic?

Black Garlic originated in Asia, where it was initially consumed as a health product. With all the immunity benefits of fresh garlic, but without the pungent raw taste, its sweetness made Black Garlic easier to consume — and keep down! 

Incredibly popular across the globe, and now gaining more traction here in Australia, Black Garlic is a gourmet kitchen staple that is loved by chefs around the globe for its intense umami flavours whilst also being high in antioxidants, gluten-free and vegan friendly.
